Advent ideas

Several years ago, my husband and I decided it was time to get back to what Christmas was all about. We had been over buying and making it all about the gifts with a little bit of Jesus thrown in. So, we came up with several little advent ideas. This one is my favorite. Each day we pull an ornament to learn an attribute of God. One side is attribute and the other is the corresponding verse. The first year I did it I used red glass balls and a gold paint pin. That was 3 houses and 3 kids ago, so, I gave our advent ornaments a new face this year and I'm really happy with the results.

What you will need for Attributes Advent ornaments:

(My hobby lobby shopping list)
Chipboard pre-cut tags
Chalkboard spray paint
Butchers twine
Chalk marker
Jingle bells

(What I had at home)
Scissors
Hole punch
Pencil
List of attributes (I found a great resource on Pinterest)

To assemble:
1. Spray cards on both sides with spray paint
2. Pencil your attribute and verse onto the dried card
3. Trace with chalk marker
4. Punch a hole at the top
5. String two bells on twine and loop through the painted card and tie in a bow
6. Place in a basket, hang on twine on the mantle, place in a vase, or wherever you want!

I hope you enjoy this little Advent as much as we do! And from my family to yours.....MERRY CHRISTMAS!
